He serves as Associate Dean of Civic Engagement at Bard College where he works with over 40 universities across 20 countries through the Open Society University Network (OSUN), providing training and opportunities for faculty and students on experiential learning and civic engagement. Brian has additionally worked with public diplomacy programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs on U.S. foreign policy as well as civic engagement. Azamat Sakiev is a professor of International and Comparative Politics, specializing in Russian and Eurasian politics. Rebecca Ruth Gould is Distinguished Professor of Comparative Poetics and Global Politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. She was an inaugural faculty member for Yale-NUS, Singapore’s first liberal arts college, for which she helped to develop the literature and humanities curriculum. Her expertise ranges across literature and the social sciences–particularly anthropology and political thought–and she is passionate about internationalizing higher education.
